Frequently Asked Question
[My Account] How will I be charged when I upgrade or downgrade my plan?
Last Updated 7 years ago
Users can upgrade, downgrade or purchase new plans at any time. When the user upgrades any subscription, they will be charged for the new plan and credited a prorated amount for the previous plan.
Below are examples for how BQool will charge users for the new plan and credit them the prorated amount for the previous plan.
Take Repricing Central for example:
The previous payment date is May 20th, 2018 for the Repricing 5,000 Plan and the user plans to make an upgrade on July 10th, 2018. Therefore, the remaining unused days of the original subscription is 314 days.
The Annual Payment for Repricing 5,000 plan is $540.
The formula to calculate the prorated amount is: (the total payment / the days of the billing cycle) * the remaining unused days of the subscription.
The amount credit is (540/365)*314= $464.55
For the Feedback Central 2,000 plan, the annual fee is $270 and the annual email quota is 24,000.
The value of each email is worth of $0.01125 (the annual fee / the annual email quota).
If the user has 0 emails available during the plan upgrade, then BQool will not credit them for the plan upgrade, whereas if the user still has emails remaining from their original quota, then BQool will credit them accordingly based on the number of available emails.
As an example, if the user has used 1,328 emails over their original 24,000 email quota, then during the plan upgrade the system will proceed to calculate the Additional Email Fee and apply it to the upgrade payment.
The Additional Email Fee = 1,328 x $0.0075 = $9.96.
If the new Feedback Central plan is the 5,000 Plan, which costs $540, and users don’t have the available email quota from the previous plan but do have the Additional Email Fee, the Additional Email Fee will be added to the plan upgrade payment when users check out.
The total payment in this scenario is $549.96 ($540 + $9.96).
